Continental Airlines

Last year around this time we completed one of the last shoots for Continental Airlines before the merger. We were on four aircraft with more than 30 models and kept it all on schedule.  Many thanks to producer Mike Hulsey and our awesome crew.

"My Life as a Doll" Tara Conley & Tria Woods

This (not to be missed) exhibit is opening this Friday (11-11-11) at DiverseWorks, 6 to 9pm.  My friends Tara (artist), and Tria (writer), created an amazing art installation based on a doll character that invites you to explore social and gender issues that women experience.   We had a fun shoot!

Medellin!!!

In August I spent three weeks in Medellin, Colombia visiting my brother-in-laws family.  It was a breathe of fresh air.  Lots of lazy mornings, lap swimming, learning to salsa dance at family parties and enjoying great food!

Jennifer - Tintype

Here's another recently produced tintype of Jennifer Almaguer.   I poured three plates for this session.  After the first plate I remixed a fresh developer and started getting better results.  I really need to keep track of the shelf life on the chemistry.  This is the final plate from our four hour session.

Nicole - Tintype

I recently produced this tintype of my friend Nicole Haagensen.  It takes about an hour to produce each plate and I'm still struggling with this process.  Immediately after I develop, fix and rinse I shoot these with my dslr to preserve the image.    Sometimes as soon as 30 minutes later the my plates are developing black spots.   I know I'll need to mix fresh chemistry soon to get my plates archival again.  The trick is finding out which chemistry is causing the problem.

Artist Joy Beckler

Had a very interesting studio shoot with Joy Beckler yesterday. Joy is an emotionally intense artist and it was fascinating to document Joy in her element.
